Beast Guardians: Poppy Playtime - Chapter 6 - DiamondBlizzard18 (2024)

Chapter Text

Jacob kicked a rock down the hole, hoping that it would be impossible for them to go down. Unfortunately, the rock clattered continuously, giving him the impression of a slope of some kind.

“Is it a slide?” Becca asked.

“Sounds like it,” Jacob said. His sister pulled out a flashlight and shone it down the hole. Sure enough, the light reflected off of blue plastic that sloped downwards. It looked surprisingly stable, despite how long the building had likely been abandoned for.

To his surprise, Huggy jumped first, eliciting a surprised yelp from Becca. After a few moments, a shriek made its way up to them.

“He said it’s safe,” Becca translated, breathing a sigh of relief. Jacob nodded, and watched as Becca went next, shouting, “Chee-hooo!”

Jacob gulped and jumped next. After a few seconds, he felt the plastic of the slide below him as he made his way down. He emerged from the bottom and found Becca explaining her shout to Huggy.

“Not really that old, but it’s still a great movie.” She said. She turned towards him with a smile, then looked surprised. “Woah.”

Jacob turned and saw that there were a total of five slides, plastic letters creating names above each: Elliot Ludwig (the one that they had come from), Stella Greyber, Leith Pierre, Harley Sawyer, and Alexander Lowe.

“I think they were the heads,” Becca said. “We know Leith was the Head of Innovation, and Elliot was the founder, but I don’t know about the others.”

“Random guesses; production, maintenance, and engineering.” Jacob said. He dusted himself off and turned to the only visible pathway; a metal door with a lever next to it. He pulled it with the Grabpack, but it didn’t budge.

Jacob saw a room with another electrical puzzle to his left, but before he could go that way, Huggy pulled the lever down and started the door.

“That works too,” Becca said.

The group made their way towards yet another door. There was also another metal door, this one with a red Handpad above it. Jacob shot the red hand at it, expecting the hand to connect, charge the Handpad, and open the door.Instead, a familiar pink hand shot down and grabbed the red Grabpack hand, an excited female voice gasping before exclaiming, “A new playmate!”

The pink hand pulled the red hand back so far that the wire actually snapped, breaking off from the Grabpack.

“Hey!” Jacob protested.

“What was…oh my goodness,” Becca stared up at the ceiling as the hand thief came down, talking as she did.

“It’s been so long,”

Jacob’s jaw dropped as a pink toy made her way down from the ceiling. Her neck, arms, legs, and face were a pale pink, while her hair, hands, shoes, heart-shaped chest segment, and spherical abdomen were a darker pink. Sky blue beaded bands were around her neck and at the ends of her hands, as well as in her hair, creating a ponytail. The socks in her shoes were the same color as the bands, and emerald green eyes, as realistic as Poppy’s, stared at him from above. Despite being slightly shorter than Huggy, the spider-like toy was an intimidating presence. Her mouth was seemingly stuck in a permanent smile, which wasn’t making him feel any less creeped out.

“Isn’t this exciting Poppy?” The large pink toy brought her left hand down, revealing the porcelain doll with her mouth wrapped in webbing. “Very exciting Mommy!” She said, this time in a higher-pitched voice.“Mommy,” as she had called herself, repositioned herself so that she was almost directly above them. “Mommy heard that Miss Poppy was just going to give you the code to the train. Instead, why don’t we make a game out of it?”

“Um,” Jacob started. The glare he received shut him up immediately.

“A game?” Becca asked.

“Mommy’s” expression softened slightly. “Yes! The train station is still working! It’ll be just like old times.”

“Did kids come here a lot?” Jacob asked.

Another harsh look. “Yes,”

“Cool!” Becca said.

Why the heck does she hate me? Jacob wondered. I haven’t even done anything yet.

“Well,” “Mommy” said in the high voice, “if you win all three games, I’ll give you the code to the train!” She gasped, and her voice returned to normal. “Excellent idea Poppy.”

Jacob noticed that Poppy rolled her eyes at that, as though she was annoyed at being treated like a non-living doll.

“That’s pretty fair,” Becca pointed out. “Three games, three train codes.”

“Exactly!” The spider-like toy agreed. “Head to Musical Memory, and Mommy will get things started!”

She looked at Jacob, and her voice suddenly became cold as she leaned in close to his face. “Obey the rules,” she whispered, “or I’ll tear you apart, and eat your insides. While you’re. Still. Alive.”

Jacob paled slightly as the pink toy chuckled, then laughed as she quickly ascended back up to wherever she had come from. Becca looked over at him with a concerned look, but he shook himself and pressed onwards.

At the end of this new hallway, there was an enormous room filled with colorful climbing structures and play equipment. A large train sat on hidden tracks, with a green Handpad next to the door.

Guess that answers what color hand I’ll get to replace my red hand, he thought ruefully. He also noticed a control panel of some sort with three levers with lights above them. The light above the lever on the far left was flashing red, and Jacob stepped up the stairs leading to the platform it was on, passing a cutout of Kissy Missy wearing a conductor’s outfit.

He pulled the lever, and a loud sound emitted from the overhead speakers. A female voice came from them. “Hi kids! Welcome to the Game Station! I'm Stella and we've got three super, duper fun games to play! These little tests show us just how crazy, strong and smart you are! Follow Mommy Long Legs down the stairs and we'll start by playing Musical Memory! See you in a bit!

An incredibly bright light overhead shove down on a door that slowly opened. Jacob noticed the words “Musical Memory” were done in colorful letters, with a yellow bunny head above them, wearing a green party hat.
Jacob walked down to go into the first game, but Becca stopped him.

“I heard the threat she made to you,” she said, “and I’m not gonna let it stand. If she tries to hurt you, she’s gonna have to go through me. Oh, and Huggy. Huggy isn’t gonna let her hurt us.”

The blue mascot nodded in agreement. Jacob felt relieved. “Can I ask why you’ve suddenly gone from wanting to kill me because I look like an employee, to protecting me and my sister?”

Huggy growled, and Becca translated, “Children take priority, and you have proven to be her other protector. And as you are important to her, I will also protect you with my all.”

“I…thanks,” Jacob responded, slightly speechless. He led the way down the stairs that had appeared when the floor had opened to Musical Memory. A little bit down, Jacob saw a blue garage door split in half horizontally, leaving a two foot gap that he could peek through easily. On the other side, he could see a cutout of a yellow rabbit wearing green overalls and a green party hat. The rabbit was also holding a pair of cymbals, which Jacob assumed were important. There was a red button next to his head, which Jacob was going to press as soon as he figured out how to get to the other side.

He paused. “Wasn’t there a character from fnaf who was a yellow rabbit?” He asked.

“Yes,” Becca responded. “And it is taking everything in me to not make any references that will cause issues.”

Jacob shrugged. There was a hole in the wall to his right, and he led the way through it. There was a hole in the ground, which Huggy went through first, screeching back up that it was safe for them to head down. When they got there, they were greeted with darkness. Jacob noticed a flashing light towards the right, and could faintly see the outline of a lever.

After ensuring that Becca and Huggy weren’t in the path of the Grabpack, he used the left hand to pull down the lever. The lights turned on, and a set of machines with the creepy following eyes were revealed. Except for one, whose eyes stayed slightly closed and focused on nothing. The machine on the right, which looked half dead, was a blue tube with a metal pipe in the middle and a glass pane on the front. The metal pipe that led out of it, which was broken in the middle, led to the middle machine, which was a yellow rectangle with hands on either side. Inside were racks of what looked like white Grabpack hands. The final machine on the left looked kind of like a funnel, with the main body being red and the actual funnel part being made of pure metal. There was a conveyor above it, and a second one below it. A TV with a green cassette player was in the left corner, and there was a green tape on a control panel in the middle of the room, made up of four red buttons with white pictures on them.

After the lights turned on, the light above the far right button started to flash, and an annoying beeping sound started going off in the room. Jacob pushed that button, which had a drop of liquid as the picture, and white balls that appeared to be made out of plastic filled the far right machine. Once the machine was about halfway full, the balls suddenly turned into a liquid mix of some kind. Jacob was about to push the second button, but Becca stopped him.

“Why-” he started.

“It’s gonna make a huge mess if you press it now because of the broken pipe.” She replied.

She’s right, he thought. Again.

Huggy walked over and pulled the pipe back into place, curving his yellow paw to do so. Paw? Hand? He didn’t know.

Once the pipe was back in place, he pressed the second button, which had an arrow as the picture. The liquid drained from the right machine, and came out of a hose above the middle machine, coating the hands that were already in there. The racks that the hands were on rotated, and one of them came out of the machine. A line of hands now sat under the third machine, and the button to the left of the second button started to beep and flash. This one had a paintbrush as the picture.
He pressed the third button, expecting it to activate, but the only thing that happened was a few drops of green stuff coming out of the third machine. A screen, which he hadn’t noticed before, turned on, red words announcing, “NO PAINT IN MACHINE.”

A metal gate slid away somewhere to his left, and Jacob saw a hidden staircase-what was with this company and hiding everything?-where the gate had once been. He climbed up, while Becca and Huggy watched from below. He found a paint can slowly making its way across the conveyor belt, and he quickly grabbed it, walking back over to the paint machine and putting the whole can in.

He walked back down the stairs as Becca pushed the third button. Green paint came out of the third machine, coating the hands. A blast of warm air quickly dried them off, and they moved into a glass covered part of the conveyor belt. The button to the far left started beeping and glowing, and it had a picture of a cardboard box on it. Jacob walked up and pressed it, and watched as the line of green hands came down the line. He grabbed one and attached it to the right Grabpack arm, shooting it out a couple of times to make sure it wasn’t faulty. Once he was certain it wasn’t faulty, he turned to Becca and found two extra hands in his face.

“In case we get a repeat of fifteen minutes ago,” she said, upon seeing his confusion.

He nodded and stuffed the hand in his bag. When he turned to his left, he found a lime green tape in his face. He looked up to see Huggy smiling down at him.

“Uh, thanks,” he said, grabbing the tape. He walked over to the TV and popped it in. The purple screen and Playtime Co. logo appeared, followed by a picture of the green hand. White text appeared on the screen, and Jacob silently read as he watched.

Playtime Co's Green Hand

Shoot Green Power Outlet to temporarily hold electricity

Electric charge lasts for 10 SECONDS

After 10 SECONDS, the charge runs out

When holding electricity, shoot green hand receivers to temporarily power other systems

They are on the same timer. Lack of caution may result in injury

Thank you, Use your GrabPack responsibly.

Jacob whistled in amazement after the video ended. “That’s pretty nice,” he said. “Really useful too.”

“Quite the shocking development,” Becca said.

“I hate it here,” Jacob muttered under his breath. He looked over to the left and saw a vent with one of the green hand conductors, and had an idea. “I’ll open that door, and you and Huggy go first. That way, in case the door closes before I can get in, no one will be completely locked out, and Huggy can make sure no stray wild toys attack you while you’re in there.”

“And if you get attacked?” Becca asked.

“You said this thing has enough power to pull off a human’s head, right?” She nodded. “Well, if I can’t escape, I’ll use the Grabpack to fight back-only as a last resort, I promise.”

Becca hesitated, but eventually nodded her agreement as she and Huggy moved out of the way. “Let’s test and make sure it’s actually ten seconds first,” she pulled out her phone. “I don’t know how reliable this machinery is after however long it’s been abandoned for.”

“Fair enough,” Jacob positioned the green hand at the charging outlet, and fired. As soon as he had the charge, Becca pressed a button on her phone. As soon as the charge faded, she pressed it again, and said, “Ten seconds exactly.”

“So as long as we make sure we’re counting, we should be fine.” He grabbed another charge and immediately shot it at the outlet for the door. As soon as the door opened, Becca and Huggy went through. He counted in his head as he went in, having three seconds to spare after he got in. The door slammed shut behind him, and he breathed a quiet sigh of relief. He did not want to get trapped under one of those.

They made their way through the vent system, and found themselves on the opposite side of the metal door. Jacob looked at the cutout, then looked at Becca. “You wanna press it?”

She smiled. “Sure!”

She pressed the red button, and the cutout said its line in a singsong voice, “I know when your birthday is~ June 28th!” Followed by giggling.

“Not even close,” Becca said. Jacob nodded.

“Let’s keep going,” Jacob said. Becca nodded, pressing the button again as they walked into the game, the cutout starting to sing “Happy Birthday” behind them.
