110 St. Louts Slate- Be Nov. 11, Class A State Cage Meet Begins Feb.22 COLUMBIA, Nov. 10 (Special). The 128 largest high schools in the state, which this years means those with enrollments of 322 and over, will begin play for, the Class A Missouri State High School Activities Association basketball championship in 16 regional tournaments throughout the state on Feb.

22, Jake Noel, executive secretary of the association announced today. Winners of the regional meets will meet in the championship tourney scheduled for the Washington University Field House at St. Louis opening Feb. 28. The plans for the Class A competition were made at a meeting of the Association's Board of Control at Kansas City, Noel said The board also elected Clyde W.

McConnell, superintendent of schools at Ozark, as its president and named Russell J. Welsh, principal of Clinton High school, as its vice president. McConnell and Thurston S. superintendent of schools Dexter, began new four-year terms on the board, and Eldred Sage of Atlanta was installed as representative of the Northeast district for one year to fill an unexpired term. CLASS COMING UP Noel said that plans for state competition for Class schools, which includes.

all of those with enrollment below 322, will be announced next month. The Class sub regional and regional tournatents to qualify for the state championship, provides for its finals at the Southeast Missouri State College at Cape Girardeau, starting Mar. 8. Enrollment changes in the schools and the new dividing line between the classes 322 as compared with 311 last yearhas dropped five of the state's 1953 Class A schools into Class this year. They are: Fairview, 318 Buffalo, 310; Missouri Military.

Academy of Mexico, 308; Fronton, 307, and Flat River, 303. Robert T. Coles of Kansas City has changed from a senior to a junior high school, and therefore will not compete. New schools in Class A include Boon ville and Lexington, back in Class A after a year in Class and Brentwood, Lindbergh, Park Hill and Wardell, in Class A for the first time. BACK TO BOONVILLE The return of Boonville to Class A will move the central Missouri regional tournament back.to Boonville after a year at Jefferson City, and will bring some realignment of teams.

Marshall, Brookfield and Boonville will be included, while Fulton. Salem and Rola, which payed at Jefferson City last year, will go to other tournaments. St. Louis and Kansas City regional co-: will be on a geogre for the first time In the past, team- ouis area were seed- 2.10. the five tourneys there, insuring survival of the strong test for the state meet, a practice which drew criticism from outstate schools.

Three St. Louis area schools, St. Charles, Other Sports on Page 8B Mehiville and Eureka, are being sent to other regionals to the number of entries down to 40, eight for each of the five districts there. In Kansas City, Linwood boulevard is the dividing line between the two districts, and the tournaments will be held at Rockhurst and North Kansas City, as in the past. Park Hill will replace R.

T. Coles to fill the brackets there. The assignments for the regionals follow: St. Joseph- -Chillicothe 497. Excelsior Springs 108, Liberty 370, St.
