If you cancel your trip for a Covered Reason, you must notify Allianz Global Assistance and your travel supplier(s) within 24 hours of the cancellation to qualify for full reimbursem*nt. Allianz Global Assistance can be reached at 1-844-310-1578 for assistance with opening your claim.

The most common covered reason is unforeseen illness, injury, or death of the traveler, a traveling companion, or a non-traveling family member. Other common covered reasons include terrorism, inclement weather, or a natural disaster, among others. Not being able to travel as planned is a major concern among travelers.

As long as the reason for cancellation is covered under your policy, you can submit a claim for reimbursem*nt up to a certain amount. Some providers offer reimbursem*nt of over 100% of your covered trip expenses, but the amount will depend on your plan choice.

You can file a claim on the phone, by mail, online or using the TravelSmart app. Describe what happened, explain your losses, and upload supporting documentation, such as your travel itinerary and receipts. Then, choose how you want to receive payment for an approved claim.
