Cancellation Rules for Indian Railways Tickets

To cancel a ticket and claim a refund, it is mandatory to follow the cancellation rules set by the Indian Railways:

1. E-tickets can be cancelled through the IRCTC website, Mobile App or from any online portal from where you booked your ticket, whereas counter tickets need to be cancelled at any of the PRS (Passenger Reservation System) counters.

2. For cancellation of E-tickets booked through IRCTC, a valid mobile number and email ID registered with the ticket should be provided.

3. Partial cancellation of tickets is allowed for some categories like family tickets, wherein cancellation can be done for individual passengers and not for the entire ticket.
