🌟 Exciting Research Alert! 🌟 Internet use for job searching in Ecuador. In today's digital era, the internet has revolutionised the way we conduct various activities, significantly impacting productivity and economic growth globally. 🚀I am thrilled to share insights from our latest research investigating the dynamic relationship between internet usage and employment search in the Ecuadorian labor market. 🇪🇨Employing a robust methodological approach, we have developed a discrete choice model, integrating treatment variables such as job search methods and control variables including individuals' socioeconomic characteristics. 💼Drawing upon microdata sourced from the esteemed National Survey of Employment, Unemployment, and Underemployment (ENEMDU), conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses of Ecuador (INEC) in 2018 and 2019, our research sheds light on critical insights. 🔍Our findings reveal a significant flash: the utilisation of the internet for job searches increases the probability of securing employment by an impressive 3%! 💻💼Furthermore, our study underscores the nuanced impact of various factors such as gender, educational and socioeconomic levels, age, and geographic location on employment prospects. En este trabajo de investigación usamos técnicas de regresión lineal múltiple para hallar el efecto directo de las TIC en el puntaje promedio en la prueba estandarizada PIRLS 2011 en estudiantes colombianos de cuarto de primaria. Se controlaron variables institucionales, familiares e individuales💡📖💻Los resultados muestran que la tenencia de tecnologías y el uso de éstas en el aprendizaje escolar mediante actividades de lectura de contenido digital, afectan positivamente el desempeño lector de los estudiantes incrementando el puntaje promedio entre un 21% y un 31% en la prueba PIRLS ✅Asimismo, el uso de computador (PC) para efectos de mejorar la lectura aporta un 32% adicional en la calificación de la prueba respecto a los estudiantes que no usan PC para esto, siendo la variable de mayor peso 👏🏾No obstante, se hace énfasis en el uso adecuado de las TIC, ya que su utilización llana tanto en el hogar como en el colegio puede afectar negativamente el desempeño dado que se utilizan para otros objetivos fuera del escolar ‼️

Once I decided to change the word Universe in my language. I began to use Pluriverse instead, recognising the multiple forms in the space that people, beings, and non-beings share. With this introduction, I am happy to say that I am grateful to the Pluriverse for giving me the opportunity to study a master degree in the UK. This experience meant putting aside pre-existing assumptions, which made me grow a lot both personally and professionally ✨. The acknowledgments on a page in my MA dissertation are not limited to that paper. They cover a whole year of my life. I am happy to share some pictures of my milestone and my contributions derived from it! 😃My dissertation entitled "Postcapitalist politics in action: Community Economies in food production systems, a case study in England" is a work that makes three contributions. ✅First, it contributes to knowledge of theories in practice, specifically related to Katherine Gibson's and Julie Graham's feminist critique of political economy. ✅Second, it presents ways of practicing development that circumvent some of the harmful effects of the conventional practice of development, which is economic growth translated into industrialisation. This conventional practice has alienated us from human communities and our interaction with other communities (fungi, plants, animals, Nature in general), even as it is a practice that degrades Nature and creates and perpetuates social inequalities. ☠️These harms of capitalism constitute the starting point of the discussion that I developed in this chapter of my academic life. ✅Finally, as a third contribution, my thesis helps in the rethinking of the value of people and planet with the will to make more visible local actions that draw alternatives on the ethical dimensions of economic decisions.#communityeconomiescollective

✅ Highlight of my experience in proposal/grant writing: Throughout my educational pursuits, I have had the privilege of securing multiple #scholarships that have not only supported my academic goals but have also provided me with invaluable experience in #proposalwriting. Notable examples include the 'Beca Sueños de Paz' scholarship by Bancolombia, which enabled me to pursue my undergraduate degree in economics at the Universidad Industrial de Santander in Colombia. Additionally, I was awarded the prestigious Chancellor's International Scholarship by the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom and the Colfuturo Scholarship, both of which supported my master's degree in environment, development, and policy. Furthermore, I had the privilege of attending the Summer School program at the University of Cambridge, exploring the science and politics of sustainable food systems in the Anthropocene, with the collaboration between the Centre for Global Knowledge Studies (gloknos), the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CRASSH), and the Global Food Security Interdisciplinary Research Centre (GFS). These opportunities allowed me to refine my proposal/grant writing skills as I crafted compelling applications that successfully secured my placements. I am excited to bring my skills and experience to organisations committed to impactful transformation for people and our planet ❤️🌱
